Andrew Parker, Ph.D., FSAP Manager [+ -]
Andrew L. Parker, Ph.D., is a Clinical Psychologist with the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program at UCSF and in private practice in San Francisco and Mill Valley. Prior to Dr. Parker's career as a psychologist, he was a professional mediator in the field of catastrophic injury litigation. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and interned at the San Francisco VA Hospital.
In addition to his private practice, he has worked as a therapist for the San Francisco Vet Center treating Vietnam combat veterans, and as Clinical Director for the Swords to Plowshares residential treatment program for homeless veterans coping with long-term addiction. Before coming to UCSF, he was Program Director for the Ohlhoff Outpatient Program in Marin County, which provides treatment for individuals and families dealing with chemical dependency and eating disorders. At UCSF, he also serves on the Physician's Well-Being Committee, the Domestic Violence Response Team, and on the Threat Management Team.
Michelle Sokoloff, Psy.D., Clinical Psychologist [+ -]
Michelle Sokoloff, Psy.D., is currently working for the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program part-time, where she provides mental health counseling and consultation services to the Campus and Medical Center University's staff and faculty. Dr. Sokoloff also works in private practice in downtown San Francisco where she provides mental health services to adolescents, adults, and couples who present with a variety of concerns such as emotion regulation, mood disorders, anger management, perfectionism, substance abuse/dependence, codependency, and grief.
Dr. Sokoloff earned her Psy. D. and M.A. in clinical psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, Calif., where she was trained to provide culturally informed insight-oriented psychodynamic, client-centered, psychotherapy to individuals families and couples utilizing schema, cognitive, and behavioral therapies with a special focus on cultural diversity. Dr. Sokoloff's therapeutic orientation can be described as integrated. Furthermore, Dr. Sokoloff brings a dedication and has a strong interest in promoting knowledge to not only help individuals exert more control in their lives, but to improve overall emotional well-being.
Deborah Krupp, Ph.D., Counselor[+ -]
Deborah Krupp, Ph.D., is a Counselor with the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program at UCSF. Dr. Krupp received her B.A. in Psychology from UC Davis, M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from San Francisco State University, and Ph.D. in Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, Calif.. She completed her internship at UCSF in the Department of Psychiatry working with patients at the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at UCSF, and her postdoctoral training in research at SFSU and clinical training at UCSF.
Prior to joining FSAP, Dr. Krupp worked in both the public and private sectors providing program development and consultation services. Dr. Krupp's interests include nonverbal behavior, emotion regulation, cross-cultural psychology and pediatric obesity. Dr. Krupp serves on the staff subcommittee of the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Diversity.
Rachel Steinberg, Psy.D., Counselor [+ -]
Rachel Steinberg, Psy.D. is a postdoctoral fellow with the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program. Dr. Steinberg earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the Wright Institute, in Berkeley, Calif. Her counseling approach is collaborative, client specific, and culturally informed.
Dr. Steinberg integrates psychodynamic thinking with relational/interpersonal, systems, and mindfulness-based approaches. Her interests include relational and attachment issues, life transition/identity development, existential issues, body image and disordered eating, group therapy, and the impact of mindfulness practices on psychological well-being.
Rob Starkey, Psy.D., Counselor [+ -]
Rob Starkey, Psy.D., is a postdoctoral fellow with the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program. Dr. Starkey earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Alliant University/CSPP in San Francisco. His areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, trauma, destructive patterns, relational issues, and personal growth.
He has experience working with substance abuse, grief, medical issues, and trauma. Dr. Starkey works with a psychodynamic emphasis while integrating theory and techniques from cognitive behavioral, multicultural and family systems frameworks.
Deborah Baker-Reyes, Administrative Assistant [+ -]
Deborah Baker-Reyes is the Administrative Assistant for the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program. She earned her B.A. in Communications from San Francisco State University. Deborah has more than 15 years' experience in human resources, recruiting, and customer service, and more than 10 years' experience as a property manager.
Prior to joining UCSF, she was the Corporate Recruiting Manager for The Sharper Image headquarters. Deborah's primary duties include coordinating scheduling for the Employee Assistance Program unit (which includes individual and organizational counseling services), supporting the department and its five clinicians, administering the emergency loan program, and designing and generating quarterly reports for analysis. She also analyzes and responds to service requests in reference to any and all counseling needs and requests, and she enjoys providing and assisting individuals with client relations.
