Latino Staff Association
The Latino Staff Association Office of the President is an employee organization that promotes the general welfare and interests of Latinos in the Office of the President.
LaSA-OP provides a support group for Office of the President staff; fosters communication and sensitivity among members of the Association and the University community; assists in the development of leadership skills of Association members; and advocates for the inclusion of Latinos in University events.
In addition, LaSA-OP supports the employment, training, retention, and advancement of Latino staff; establishes and maintains cooperative relationships and other outreach activities in the Latino community; serves as an organized, cohesive body through which employees can influence and ensure progress with respect to Affirmative Action objectives in the Office of the President; and sponsors activities to raise funds for non-profit agencies in the local community and to facilitate networking opportunities for Association members.
Membership in LaSA is open to all Office of the President employees and retirees who wish to participate in carrying out the objectives of the Association. Annual membership dues are $10. A $50 lifetime membership also is available.
The Board meets periodically throughout the year and general membership meetings are scheduled 2-3 times a year.
