Employee Assistance Program for Managers and Supervisors Managers and supervisors inform staff that personal consultation, assessment and referral is available for such work/life problems as relationship issues at home or work, personal/emotional stress, family problems, elder care needs, addictions, grief and death. The Employee Assistance Program services to departments include:
Managers and supervisors can consult on managing a poorly performing employee where there is a known or assumed personal problem negatively impacting their work. Management consultations provide education and strategy planning about issues such as grief, substance abuse, chronic illness, trauma and other difficult workplace situations. A manager or group of employees can request crisis group counseling when there is a shared crisis in the workplace such as serious illness, death of a colleague or excessively inappropriate behavior. Finally, if there is a perceived threat of violence, report the matter to Jude Sharp (510-987-0839), Rene Jackson (510-987-0879) or Michael Keleman (510-987-9304) and a timely response will be made. |
