Nancy Coolidge Named UCOPA Net Impact Awardee

UC Office of the President Staff Assembly (UCOPA) Announces the Net Impact Award Recipient
The Selection Committee for the UCOPA Net Impact Award is honored to announce the selection of Nancy Coolidge, Coordinator, Government Relations in Student Financial Support as recipient of the award. Nancy has served 26 years with the University and was nominated for the passion, expertise, drive and dedication she gives to her role. Specific areas of scope and impact were identified by Nancy's nominator but her contributions go beyond the traditional boundaries of service to the University:
- Improving the access to UC for students from low-income families
- Increasing educational outreach to students and their families
- Providing assistance to her peers on UC campuses, at other institutions, and in the state and national financial aid communities
She has a reputation for compassion for students and families of students. In addition to the individuals she has helped over the years, she has also enhanced financial aid programs at the State and Federal levels allowing for maximum impact. Nancy will be presented with the award at the upcoming Council of UC Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) meeting on Thursday September 6th at 9:50 a.m. in Nile Hall at Preservation Park. Other outstanding UCOP staff members were nominated in recognition of the contributions they have made to UC and the community we serve:
- Bart Aoki, PhD, Associate Director, California HIV/AIDS Research Program for his exceptional leadership of the University's contributions to HIV/AIDS research as well as service to related State programs.
- Rosalie Lack, Director, Digital Special Collections - as the moving force behind Calisphere, the University's free public gateway to more than 150,000 primary sources, she has enhanced the K-12 teaching community with advanced electronic access to materials in support of the California Content Standards.
- Cathryn Nation, M.D., Director, Academic Health Sciences outstanding leadership in the effort to assess the future health science workforce needs and develop compelling documents that outline the needs, vision and implementation recommendations to in effect transform the health science professions for UC and the State.
- Ines Deromana, Principle Policy Analyst, Education Abroad Program - for her demonstrated dedication to students in study abroad programs addressing issues of mental health and legal challenges.
- Yvett Gulatt, Director, K-12 and Community Initiatives; Former Director, EAOP - for her service as a role model, leader and team player in mentoring staff and ensuring the important implementation of knowledge transfer in the organizations to which she has contributed.
- Jan Kehoe, Assistant Director of Operations, Treasurer's Office - for her many years organizing the UCOP employee blood drive empowering her fellow staff to give much needed blood resources to the community.
- James Dorsey, Director, MESA - for annual participation in the AIDS Lifecycle ride raising over $65,000 in the past three years.
Each of them should be congratulated for their outstanding contributions to UC and the wider community we serve.
