This week's restructuring news includes an update on the new Institutional Research unit, the appointment of a SVP for External Relations, and a reminder about other employment opportunities at UCOP.

Institutional Research job openings

Last week we announced that the Institutional Research Director position was being revised based on the anticipated level of work in the new unit. The Institutional Research unit will be responsible for assembling corporate data from campus and other sources and ensuring effective stewardship; supporting the use of corporate data by multiple client communities in planning and analysis, decision support, reporting and accountability; conducting analyses based on corporate data; and assisting in ad hoc and strategic uses of those data.

The IR Director position will be relisted on the UCOP Jobs website later this week, along with new job listings for 14 content specialist and analyst positions. These positions will focus on five key subject/functional areas: undergraduate admissions, student financial services, research contracts and grants, budget, and staff and/or academic personnel. New SVP for External Relations

As announced last week, the Board of Regents appointed Alan Hoffman to the position of Senior Vice President for External Relations. The position will report directly to President Yudof and will guide UCOP activities in communications, advocacy and government relations at the state and federal levels. With SVP Hoffmans appointment, we expect to move forward soon with implementation of OP's new consolidated communications unit. For more on SVP Hoffman's appointment, click here.

Other employment opportunities

In addition to the restructuring-related job openings announced in these weekly updates, a number of other openings are posted regularly on the UCOP jobs website.
