UCOP Restructuring Update for Week of August 25, 2008

• Re-posting job openings in BRC and IR Unit
• Upcoming brown bag meetings

Dear Colleagues:

This week we have news of job listings being re-posted for applications, and a schedule for brown bag meetings coming up in September. With the Labor Day Holiday on Monday, the next weekly restructuring update will go out on Wednesday, September 3.

Re-posting positions in BRC and IR unit
The interview and hiring process continues for positions in the Business Resource Center (BRC) and the Institutional Research (IR) unit. A number of strong candidates have been identified, and unit leaders are beginning to fill the next level of positions in each unit.

We've determined, however, that it's necessary to re-post some positions and open them to UC applicants beyond OP. Specifically, in the BRC, openings for two payroll analysts and five non-payroll analysts are being re-posted for one week. In the IR unit, the data steward position is being reposted for two weeks. While our hope remains that these jobs can be filled by OP staff, we must take this step to help ensure that we have the largest, most competitive pools of qualified applicants possible.

These positions will open beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, August 27, on the UCOP Jobs website. The application deadline for the BRC analyst positions will be Wednesday, September 3. The deadline for the data steward position will be Wednesday, September 10. Also a reminder that the application deadline for a new BRC team lead position is August 28.

We strongly encourage employees who have experience with this type of work to read the job descriptions and consider applying. The BRC leadership team is available if you want to talk to them about the job openings or the new unit:
