UCOP Restructuring Update for Week of December 1, 2008
December 2, 2008

  • New Workshops
  • Jobs Closing

Colleagues,

Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed the holiday break. We return this week with a reminder about closing deadlines for posted jobs and information about upcoming workshops.

New Workshops
We are mindful that the holidays can be a stressful time for many people, especially trying to balance work and family. The global economic crisis and our restructuring efforts have added additional pressures.

In an effort to help employees deal with their stress, UCOPA will sponsor two noon-time brown bag events next week called "Taking Care of Yourself." Jude Sharp, EAP Coordinator, and Kate Powers of Powers Consulting, will provide information and facilitate discussion about how to recognize and address stress both in yourselves and your co-workers. The workshops are scheduled for Tuesday, December 9, noon to 1 p.m. in Franklin 11326 and Thursday, December 11, noon to 1 p.m., Kaiser 512.

The job search workshops are being offered again next week as well. Check the UCOP HR website for details.

These workshops are among several ways we plan to reach out to employees in the coming weeks. If you would like to suggest other topics that might be helpful to staff, please use the form on the Future of UC website to submit your suggestions.

Application Period Closing Soon
This is a reminder that openings in the consolidated Issues Management and Policy Analysis Coordination (IMPAC) unit close tomorrow, December 3. In addition, many of the positions in the Strategic Planning and Policy Analysis (SPPA) unit will close next Tuesday, December 9. Many jobs, including new posting for the Institutional Research unit, continue to be open, so remember to check the UCOP jobs website regularly.
